Zangezour Copper and Molybdenum Combine didn’t perform the statutory requirements and didn’t submit the mine closedown project to Nature Protection Ministry, as the Ministry reply letter addressed to EcoLur says. “Under Article 15 of RA Law “On Environmental Impact Expert Assessment” and Article 17 of RA Code on Subsoil”, the mine closedown project shall be submitted for environmental expertise, which should lay down the territory, ore mining site, waste disposal site and its amount, project impact zone population health and safety monitoring program. All mining companies, including Zangezour Copper and Molybdenum Combine, are informed about this, but ZCMC hasn’t submitted any program so far,” the ministry reply says.
