EcoLur

The International Finance Corporation, IFC, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, EBRD, have proceeded to the examination of the complaints on Amulsar gold mine in full earnest. Reminder: both IFC and EBRD are the shareholders of the head company implementing Amulsar project -  Lydian International Ltd, which, in its turn, has 100% package of “Geoteam” CJSC, the project implementer in Armenia.

So far three complaints have been lodged on Amulsar project, as the international financial institutions don’t follow their own principles of social and environmental liability and don’t follow environmental and social standards.

Two complaints have been lodged by nine representatives of NGOs and green initiatives, another complaint has been signed by 210 residents of Gndevaz community, in the territory of which “Geoteam” CJSC intends to construct a heap leach factory for gold extraction. You can find the complaints on the websites of IFC and EBRD following:

In near future the texts of the complaints will be published on the website of www.ecolur.org.
