Already Ex-Head of Environmental and Mining Inspection Arthur Grigoryan spoke about his dismissal after two days of silence. In the pavilion of the Civilnet, Grigoryan said that he had received the first message of quitting his job from RA Deputy PM Tigran Avinyan.
'When the PM was out of Armenia, I couldn't expect such a decision to be adopted,' Arthur Grigoryan said.
He said that the inspection body is beheaded at the moment when the findings of the inspections at Qajaran copper and molybdenum mine are being summarized. Grigoryan outlined that he was going to present the problems detected in Qajaran to PM Nikol Pashinyan.
'The inspection is a body implementing very important state functions, a powerful body, and when the head of this body is urged to hand in a letter of resignation, there should be very clear justifications. It should be discussed very seriously how to continue unfinished inspections. We have been conducting inspections in Qajaran for 4.5 months, we accomplished it on 21 December (note by EcoLur: this is the day when Arthur Grigoryan was dismissed) afterward we have 10 days to summarize this huge-scale information and to give legal assessments. To what extent beheading the inspection body complies with the criteria of professionalism is another question. The decision-making on Qajaran shouldn't be left on the inspectors, a certain person should be to make legal and political decisions on this matter. Here the problems have different layers and they are not only environmental ones. I was going to present the problems to the PM and, in parallel, discuss Tigran Avinyan's proposal on quitting the job,' Arthur Grigoryan said.
