On July 27-31, 2020, on the basis of the letter received from Environment Ministry, RA Nature Protection and Mining Inspection Body, based on the data provided by "Calculation Center" CJSC, checked the comparison of water intake and electricity produced by Argitchi SHPP from May 30 2019 to July 31, 2020. The inspection body recorded a violation. It was found out that "Argitchi" SHPP belonging to "Hydro Corporation" CJSC carried out water intake not provided for by the water use permit in August 2019 and it took more water than the set water level in September. The requirement of Part 2 of Article 27 of RA Water Code has been violated.
An administrative fine of 200,000 AMD was imposed on the company. The amount of damage to the environment constituted 168,840 AMD. Reminder: EcoLur team visited the area of the SHPP station in August 2020 and recorded that water was being discharged into the river through one of the pipes leaving the SHPP station. The alarm signal was passed to the inspection body. In their turn, the inspection body answered that they were going to control "Argitchi" small HPP.
