“The average annual temperature in the Voghji basin has increased by 0.5 degree. We can see in five hydrological observation sites that a decrease of the natural flow by 30% has been recorded so far,” said Naira Aslanyan, UNDP Expert on Climate change at “Clean Energy and Water” project.
She mentioned that the same dynamics was recorded also in the basin of Meghri with little difference of indicators. According to forecast scenarios, the climate change will result in further reduction of the flows of the Meghri and Voghji Rivers.
