25 Cm Lower Than Last Year's Index: Continuous Decrease In Level of Lake Sevan

The level of Lake Sevan on June 12, 2023 is 1900.51 cm, which is 25 cm lower than the index recorded last year (1900.76 cm).

It should be noted that water releases for the purpose of irrigation, which started in May, contribute to the drop in the level. According to the data of "Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center" of Environment Ministry, 40,810 cubic meters of water was released for irrigation purposes as of June 12, and 68,482 million cubic meters of water entered the lake through the Arpa-Sevan aqueduct.
