Around 280,000 Young Fish Let Out Into Kartchaghbyur and Masrik Rivers

On September 2, Sevan Trout Reserve Recovery and Fish Breeding Foundation released about 280,000 Gegharkunik trout species into Karchaghbyur and Masrik Rivers flowing into Lake Sevan, as Press Service of Environment Ministry informs.

Environment Minister Romanos Petrosyan was also present at the release of the next batch of young fish.

There are 12 cage nets with a total production capacity of about 1000 tons per year. The fish farm has about 220 tons of fish of different sizes as a total biomass.

In order to protect the small fish from poachers, the newly formed special guard detachment of "Sevan" National Park is carrying out 24/7 supervision in the estuaries.
