Whether Ardvi Forest Not Being Felled Down for Shekaghbyur Project?

EcoLur

EcoLur has received information from Ardvi villagers, Lori Region, Armenia, that a number of trees in the forest located under the control of Tumanyan forestry enterprise, next to Ardvi village, has been numbered for the purposes of felling. The residents are concerned that the tree felling is designed for the purpose of developing infrastructures for the geological prospecting of Shekaghbyur gold-polymetallic mine, as the tree felling used to be banned in this forest.

In this regard, EcoLur made an inquiry to 'ArmForest' SNCO of RA Agriculture Ministry asking to inform, 'Whether there is tree felling planned under the forest management plan in the area of Tumanyan forestry enterprise next to Ardvi Village and since when?

Whether the Shekaghbyur gold-polymetallic mine area is included in the forest fund of 'ArmForest', if yes, what is the position of 'ArmForest' SNCO on this project?'
