As a result of the inspection carried out by the employees of Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body (EPMIB) at Yegheg SHPP owned by YeghegHEK LLC, they found out that the company had upgraded No. 1 hydro turbine and generator, but did not submit the application for environmental impact assessment and examination to the authorized body, as the EPMIB informs.
On July 15, the operation of the hydro turbine and generator by "Yegeg" HPP was suspended due to not having a positive conclusion of EIA examination under the decision of Head of Vayots Dzor Regional Department of Inspection Body.
