Armenian Government Decided To Prescribe Lack of Water in Northern and Sevan Water Basin Management Areas

The Government of the Republic of Armenia has prescribed a lack of water in Northern and Sevan Water Basin Management Areas in Armenia: the government reached this resolution at the April 23 sitting of the executive.

Northern basin management area with a surface of 7185 km2 is enclosed in Lori, Tavush, Shirak and Gegharkunik Regions, Sevan Water Basin Management area is 6225 km2 enclosed in Gegharkunik and Kotayk Regions.

According to the substantiation of the resolution, it was predicted that in most of the rivers of these basin management areas the maximum volumes of river currents and outflows are expected to be in the range of 50-80% of the norm, with floods in most rivers expected to be in the range of 80-85% in the spring of 2020.
