Because of Teghout copper and molybdenum mine development the number of cars and lorries has increased, while the village road is not watered by the company, as the statement disseminated by the Pan-Armenian Environmental Front says. At present Teghout CJSC (Vallex Group) is constructing infrastructures for Teghout copper and molybdenum mine.

“Teghout mine development hasn’t even started, but choking dust is only one of the adversely affecting phenomena for health, nature and agriculture. At present villagers are concerned with dust, but when mining starts the dust will be supplemented with barren rock and tailing dump full of heavy and toxic metals, which will lead to a serious disaster. The activities of Vallex Company, like all other mining companies, once again prove that all the promises and assurances made before mining that mine is just a good for villagers are sin,” the statement says. “Sometimes dust makes breathing very hard,” the villagers are bearing an alarm signal.
