RA Nature Protection Ministry has disseminated a clarification on the alarm signal about the ponds constructed in the Azat Riverbed.
The clarification says, “There was information spread on the social networks which said that there are ponds being constructed in the Azat riverbed adjacent to Goght and Garni communities. The employees of Basin Management Department of Water Resources Management Agency of RA Nature Protection Ministry carried out an examination on the spot which showed that there is a fish farm illegally constructed in the administrative area of Goght community without having a relevant permit. This land area of 2.5 ha is owned by Grigor Grigoryan, out of which there is an illegal fish farm constructed on 0.5 ha and for which the community municipality has fined him 100,000 AMD for illegal change the expediency of the land area. The employees of Basin Management Department are preparing relevant materials to hand them to RA Environmental and Mining Inspection Body.
