"Talk on Modern Mining Practices and The Beyond Zero Harm Framework" event at the American University of Armenia has been canceled due to "the speaker's unavailability": this is what the AUA Acopian Center Coordinator's letter addressed to interested NGOs and initiatives said. "The AUA Center for Responsible Mining remains committed to multi-stakeholder engagement that includes business, government, and civil society. It is a model of engagement integral to the Center's mission. We are also committed to open and civil dialogue and discourse on topics related to responsible mining in Armenia and globally," the e-mail particularly says.

Reminder: earlier the Armenian Environmental Front addressed an open letter with a negative assessment of this event, where the speaker was to be Aaron Steeghs, Director
Health, Safety and Sustainable Development, Yamana Gold Corporation, which in partnership with Lydian International, deals with open gold mining in Amulsr with heap leaching technologies.
