In the course of 2019 Tavush Regional Prosecutor's Office tried 127 criminal cases in connection with illegal logging, which compared with 2018 is higher by 18 cases or 16.5%.
In 2019, 623 million AMD in damage to nature and state was found in criminal cases, which exceeds the index for 2018 by 2.3 times (269 million AMD). Damage of approximately AMD 30 million has been recovered, which is 3.8 times more than in the case of 2018 by 7.8 million AMD.
In addition, during the same period, 237 persons were fined in 2019. The total damage amounted to 26 million AMD, 10.5 million AMD of which was recovered.
