Environmental and Mining Inspection Body claims that the cessation of the operation of "Armenian Copper Program" CJSC is not conditioned with the findings of the inspection in the company. "Currently, the suspension of the company's operation cannot be conditioned with the act passed as a result of the inspections held by Inspection Body. The company is appealing the findings of the inspections held by Inspection Body in court, which means the company doesn't have an obligation to compensate this damage unless there is a final judicial act having entered into force," the clarification of Inspection Body says.

As a result of the inspections held in "Armenian Copper Program" CJSC in 2018, it was found out that the company had violated the requirements of RA Law "On Preservation of Atmospheric Air", as a result of which the state had incurred damage of 378,691,345 AMD. The company hasn't introduced a gas cleaning system and hasn't reduced the amount of emitted sulfur anhydrides by 90%, just the opposite – there was an increase in emissions recorded.
