The official opening ceremony of Armenia's largest solar power plant, ArSun 1-2, took place in Hrazdan community, Kotayk Region, on November 13. The installed capacity of the plant is 2 MW (photovoltaic power: 2.2 MW).
It will generate 3.4 KWh of electricity annually, reducing environmental carbon dioxide emissions by 1500 tonnes per year, as shtigen.com informs.
The symbolic ribbon cutting and connecting of the station to the Armenian power grids were carried out by two co-owners of ArSan 1-2 stations - Hayk Shekyan and Karen Ghazaryan.
The station was funded by Armswissbank through the German-Armenian Fund. The volume of investments is equivalent to 2 million USD. The station covers 4 hectares.
