The two main systems of the energy sector shouldn't be under the subjection of the same owners, as Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan stated at the government meeting on 1 June referring to the administration of "High-Voltage Electric Networks" CJSC.
"We should reach a decision urgently on the further administration methods of the electric networks. I think at this stage we shouldn't make any statement about the status of the company. We shall decide whether it remains to public administration or is eventually assigned to private administration. Nowadays we can state clearly that we must exclude the involvement of any private individual or company related to the authorities in the privatization or administration process, we must exclude the involvement of any offshore company in this process. We must ensure to have all accomplished in open, transparent and public processes. There are two prerequisites: no offshore and no person or company related to the authorities," PM Nikol Pashinyan said.
It should be mentioned that "High-Voltage Electric Networks" CJSC was planned to give to the administration of 'Tashir Capital' Company owned by Russian-Armenian businessman Samvel Karapetyan for 25 years. Nevertheless, the agreement with the Armenian Government was suspended. RA Minister for Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources Arthur Grigoryan commented that 'the agreement contains points which were not profitable for the state.'
In its turn, 'Tashir Capital' Company made an objection that it was the company, which refused from the administration of "High-Voltage Electric Networks" CJSC and they are not interested in HEN as a source of income at all.
Reminder: 'Tashir Capital' Company purchased 70% of shares of 'Electrical Networks of Armenia' in 2017.
