RPA Member Hakob Hakobyan's son, the largest shareholder of 'Vardenik' SHPP Paruyr Hakobyan, promised Vardenik residents to ensure the environmental standards  for 'Vardenik' SHPP and to make annual contributions for the community. The meeting of the SHPP owner with Vardenik residents was held upon the demand of the residents on 10 May, as local 'Hamaynqi Zarkerak' NGO President Artush Khachatryan told EcoLur in his interview.

'Two demands have been posed before the SHPP owner: the first one is to ensure all environmental standards, which were not used to be kept, to install a water-meter and to ensure online regime of data transmission so as we can follow the amount of the water flowing into the SHPP and then into the river. The second demand is to make an annual contribution to the community by SHPP-operating company. For this reason, a fund will be opened adjunct to community municipality,' Artush Khachatryan said mentioning that Paruyr Hakobyan promised the residents to perform the demands, while the amount of the sum demanded for the community will be decided within one week.
