The Finance Ministry has responded to "Dundee Precious Metals Kapan" CJSC General Manager Hrach Jabrayan's statements. Information and Public Relations Department of the Ministry in its response sent to EcoLur says, “On 28 April www.ecolur.org website published its interview with "Dundee Precious Metals Kapan" CJSC General Manager Hrach Jabrayan, who touched upon the act of 3.8 billion AMD imposed by the Finance Ministry. The interview covers everything, but it doesn’t refer to the main problem, which is as follows: "Dundee Precious Metals Kapan" CJSC violated a number of Armenian laws, which refer to soil management, i.e. the company developed mine deposits it doesn’t own. To be more precise, the company developed soil illegitimately without paying a penny to the state budget.
It should be mentioned that the company has appealed this act in court and instead of seeking to prove everything at court of law, they adopted a policy of making high-flown statements in the media and addressing improper threats, which is impermissible, in our opinion.”
