The World Leaders in Paris adopted a new climate change agreement, which will hold the increase of the gloal temperature within 1.5 degrees Celsius.
'The delegates have arranged to leash the increase of the global temperature within 1.5 degrees Celsius, even when the proposed threshold of 2 degrees seemed to be unattainable,' Ban Ki-Moon said, 'the new agreeement is a demonstration of solidarity, it's ambitious, flexible, credible and durable.'
The UN Secretary General stated that currently 189 states have submitted their national plans on reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
' Governments have agreed to binding, robust, transparent rules of the road to ensure that all countries do what they have agreed across a range of issues,' Mr. Ban added. In addition, a review mechanism has been established whereby every five years, beginning in 2018, Parties will regularly review what is needed in line with science.
Developing countries have also undertaken commitment to adopt measures to combate climate changes in proportion with their abilities.
