Nature Protection and Soil Inspection Body of RA Nature Protection Ministry hasn’t detected any dust emissions from Hrazdan Cement Factory.

Reminder: Microrayon and Jrarat neighbourhoods in Hrazdan Town are completely covered with the dust of Hrazdan cement plant, as a Hrazdan resident beat an alarm signal to EcoLur on 8 April.

Kotayk Regional Territorial Division employees followed the alarm signal beaten. The Press Secretary of Nature Protection and Soil Inspection Body informed that the plant was not operating at the moment of their visit and no dust emissions have been detected.

“When ovens are switched off, gases emerge and their emissions are planned in the operation of the plant. These gases emit into the atmosphere in the form of a white cloud, and maybe that’s why the residents have thought it’s dust,” Vruyr Pepanyan said.

It should be mentioned that according to the data published by “Environmental Monitoring and Information Center” SNCO, the average annual concentration of dust in Hrazdan Town exceeded the maximum permissible concentration by 1.8 times in 2017.
