Yerevan Deputy Mayor Tigran Virabyan presented Acting Director Vladimir Simonyan to the Zoo staff. Simonyan previously held the position of Zoo Deputy Director. Virabyan assured that the Zoo will continue to follow the same path. At the same time, Deputy Mayor emphasized that the zoo today has a number of priority issues, which should be resolved next year. In particular, it is about fencing the area and ensuring the security of the park. The issue of health insurance for park employees is also on the agenda of the municipality. “Changes are imperative for the times, but that does not mean that drastic changes are expected among employees. There cannot be only people who are involved in the sale and purchase of animals or have other interests,” Virabyan said. It was also noted that zoologist Iman Memarian has been invited to Armenia from the Islamic Republic of Iran, who will soon take up the post of deputy director after documentary adjustments and RA citizenship. He has been managing Tehran Zoo for many years.
