The four-year activities of “Integrated Biodiversity Management in the South Caucasus” project aimed at developing strategies for the sustainable management of biodiversity and ecosystem services within the sector and administrative frameworks were summarized. During the event held in November 22, Head of Local Self-Government Policy of MTAI Ashot Giloyan highlighted the components of establishment of community forests in Aragatsotn and Shirak Regions, pasture and grassland management in a number of other regions, and community staff training carried out in partnership with the communities. The Integrated Biodiversity Management in the South Caucasus project was implemented in three countries of the South Caucasus with a total budget of € 27.89 million, out of which € 5 million was co-financed by the Austrian Development Agency for the project's erosion control component.
