EcoLur

The Geghi River flows in Syunik Region, it starts from the eastern slopes of Zangezour mountains and joins the Voghji River on the left. Its length is 30 km.

As of 1 January 2013, under the licenses issued by Public Services Regulatory Committee the following licenses were issued for the construction of SHPPs on the Geghi River:

  1. “Geghi-1” SHPP operated by “TASMAN” LLC, derivation length – 6500 meters

  2. “Geghi-2” operated by “EREMIRENERGY” LLC, derivation length – 2640 meters

Thus, the SHPPs will pipe a total of 9140 meters of the Geghi River area, which makes up 30.46% of the Geghi River.

Under EcoLur’s Ecological Risk Model, this indicator is critical for the river.
