Nature Protection Minister Discussed Environmental Problems in Ararat Region

Nature Protection Minister Aramayis Grigoryan paid a working visit to Ararat Region, Armenia. During the consultation held at Regional Municipality the Minister together with the regional administration and community heads discussed the environmental problems of the region, particularly effective management of water resources of Ararat artesian basin, the current situation in the regional landfill sites, the need to regulate the management of landfill sites and to take decisive actions, as well as the need to specify the borders and areas of Khosrov State Reserve.

Minister Aramayis Grigoryan gave assignments to competent departments of the ministry to cooperate with the community heads and regional municipality and to find effective solutions.

Then the working group visited Vedi section of “Khosrov Forest” State Reserve, where certificates of gratitude were granted to the employees taken part in extinguishing fire in the area on 12 March.

On 12 March 10 ha of grass-covered area was burnt down in Khosrov Reserve because of lighting.
