38 New Wells To Be Drilled To Meet Water Demand in Ararat Valley

In order to solve the problem with the irrigation water, the Armenian Government will be allotting 70.458.5 thousand AMD from its reserve fund to State Committee of Water Industry. Under the governmental resolution, it is planned to drill 38 new wells in 26 communities in Ararat Valley, as well as to recover existing 17 wells. In the first stage, priority works will be carried out: drilling 23 new wells, as well as the recovery of 14 existing well, including the one supplying water to Sev Jur basin. 'Under the estimated, the implementation of the works in the stage will result in the additional output of around 17.6 million m3 water, which will enable to increase the level of water satisfaction in around 931 ha. Around 970 million AMD will be required for the implementation of more pressing works in the first stage.'
