The Armenian Government intends to mitigate the acute problem of the water in Ararat Valley with the construction of Vedi Reservoir. The reservoir shall be constructed in the area of Goravan community, on the Vedi River, should have total volume of 20 million square meter and 70-meter-high dam.
The irrigation will become from pumping to gravity, which will, in its turn, lead to electricity saving. A loan of 75 million Euros is planned to receive for the construction of the reservoir, which shall be provided in the frames of the loaning agreement to be signed between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and French Development Agency.
