The construction of a 193-meter-long irrigation water line in Berqanush community in Ararat Region has recently been completed. It can provide irrigation water for 12 hectares from Berqanush land areas, which will alleviate the problems of 30 households. The construction of the irrigation water line was carried out within the framework of "“Enabling Women to Participate in Sustainable Water Management in Armenia” project implmeneted by "Armenian Women for Health and Healthy Environment" NGO funded by the UNDEF.

“In the past, irrigation was carried out by a large river stream, which passed through the drainage system. We had a big water loss of almost 60%. Now even a drop of water won’t get lost. The construction of the water line solved a big problem," Berqanush Community Head Manvel Hayrapetyan said.

For the construction of the irrigation water line, the AWHHE NGO has allocated AMD equivalent of US $ 10,000, whereas the contribution of Berqanush Community has made 1 million AMD.
