On 24 August, at 13:00, the second stage of the public hearings on Teghout Copper and Molybdenum Combine is planned to hold in Teghout Community. Under the project, the productivity of the open mine of 142.2 million is planned to increase by 15 million tons. The process shall be implemented in three stages: in 2017 the productivity will increase by 8 million tons, it will reach 12 million tons in 2019 and 15 million in 2024. The increase in the productivity will results in the optimalized open mine to have an ultimate 1606 meters of length and 1016 meters of width, while the alienation area will make up 103.5 ha.
The project plans to construct the second conveyor and the second tailing pipe, which will be an iron-concrete water pipelines and metallic horizontal pipes with a diameter of 1300 mm. After the construction of the second line, the existing tailing pipe will be repaired and serve as a reserve one. Tails will be collected in the operating tailing dump. In the case of the successful implementation of the project, the volume of 213.036 million m3 of the tailing dump located in the gorge of Kharatadzor River will ensure the operation of the factory for 21 years. The waste rock is planned to house in the gorge of Duqanadzor River in the south-west part of the open mine.
