On 4 October there were photos disseminated in the mass media, which showed people with killed red-listed vultures in their hands and a car behind them. The Armenian police have revealed the identity of two people out of three on the photo – A. Mkrtchyan and Y. Poghosyan. Measures are taken to identify the third person and to reveal him/her. The investigation also showed that the car plate visible in the photos was given back on 02.08.2013 and hasn’t been provided to any other vehicle, while another car plate was provided to the car in the photo.
‘Consequently, this incident couldn’t have happened after 2013. The circumstances are being specified. The materials are being prepared in the Armavir Division of Police,’ Police press release says.

In the photo A. Mkrtchyan is Head of Shenavan Community, Armavir Region.
In the interview given to news.am, he claimed that he hadn’t hunted any red-listed vultures, but he was simply taken a picture with the vultures having been hunted by other people.
