State Budget Funds Designed for Cleaning Flooded Littoral Areas in Lake Sevan Annually Reduced

The state budget funds allotted for the cleaning of littoral flooded forests areas in Lake Save have been reduced twice, if to compare the figures of 2015 with 2017. Over this period of tima, a total of 300.33 ha forest-covered area has been cleaned. In reply to Aarhus Center Coordinator Lianna Asoyan' inquiry, RA Nature Protection Ministry Staff Head Hovhannes Hovhannisyan informed that 142.5 ha area was cleaned in 2015, while 179,201,820 AMD was spent. In 2016 93.83 ha area was cleaned, while 116,014,900 AMD was spent. For 2017 the state budget has allocated 83,875 million AMD to Sevan National Park to clean 64 ha of flooded area in Lake Sevan. It should be mentioned that under RA Law 'On Approving Annual and Complex Programs for Recovery, Conservation, Reproduction and Use of Lake Sevan Ecosystem', 125.400.000 AMD was envisaged to clean around 93 ha of forest layers around the lake for 2017.
