As of 27.12.2016, the level of Lake Sevan made up 1900.49 meters, which is an increase of 27 cm as compared with the same day of the previous year (1900.22 m) and an increase of 30 cm as compared with the beginning of the year (01.01.2016), as RA Nature Protection Minister Artsvik Minasyan said at the summarizing conference for 2016.
The Minister informed that in 2016 the water outlet for irrigation purposes from Lake Sevan made up 167.135 million cum, which is less by 0.608 million cum than that for 2015. He also noted that in 2016 920,700 items of young fish were let out into the main rivers flowing into Lake Sevan – Sevan trout spawning spots such as Kartchaghbyur, Litchq, Tsakqar, Argitchi and Masrik Rivers in the frames of Lake Sevan Trout Reserve Recovery and Fish Breeding Programme.
In 2016 93 ha of flooded area was cleaned in the frames of Lake Sevan flooded area cleaning programme.
