On 6 June 2019, the executive reached a decision to set the water intake amount from Lake Sevan for 2019 in the amount of 170 million cum: it should be mentioned that the statutory maximum water amount is 170 million cum.
As of 7 June, no water intake has been carried out of the lake: the level of Lake Sevan makes up 1900.78 m, which is lower by 2 cm as compared with the level on the same day last year. In the course of 2019, 94.955 million cum water has flown into Lake Sevan through Arpa-Sevan aqueduct.
As Head of Department for Irrigation and Drainage Systems of RA Water Committee Karen Dalbashyan informed EcoLur, the rehabilitation works of Arpa-Sevan tunnel will be accomplished on 31 December 2019. Currently, the capacity of the tunnel accounts to 19 cum per second instead of projected 24 cum per second. After the accomplishment of the rehabilitation works, the water capacity of the tunnel will make up 20 cum per second, according to the developer.
