The employees of Sevan National Park and State Environmental Inspection are carrying out 24/7 control in the littoral areas of Lake Sevan and in river estuaries not to permit any illegal fishing in the period of fishing ban, as the Information and Public Relations Department of RA Nature Protection Ministry informs.
During three days the employees of State Environmental Inspection detected and confiscated 121 kg (147 items) of whitefish in the capital and in the regions, which was passed to boarding schools and elderly people’s homes.
Reminder: fishing and crawfish hunting is banned in Lake Sevan from 1 to 25 December 2016 and from 6 to 20 January 2017 to ensure natural reproduction of the fish. Even after the expiry of the ban fishing trout and whitefish is banned. It’s permitted to fish only Prussian Carp and crawfish.
