As of August 12 of this year, 51 million cubic meters of water were released from Lake Sevan as compared to the same period last year. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan wrote about it on his Facebook page.
“As of August 12, the volume of water released from Sevan is 93 million cubic meters instead of 144 million cubic meters last year. This means that there is a high likelihood that there will be no need to let out more than 170 million cubic meters out of Lake Sevan as the law required.
The reason for this situation is more or less favorable weather and the use of emergency measures in the field of water management," the Prime Minister noted.
