Fires occur in Armenia's vegetation-covered areas, and most of them are in Yerevan. There have been 460 fire cases in capital’s vegetation-covered areas since July 1, 2015 “The year has not yet split off, the heat wave has just entered our territory… the number of fires will increase and it is possible that it will be doubled till the end of the year. It's impermissible for the capital,” said Vrezh Gabrielyan, Mayor General and Deputy Director of Rescue Service of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations at the press conference at “EcoLur” Press Club on July 2. He pointed out that the 90 percent of fires near the settlements areas are made by people. Ruben Petrosyan, Chief Ranger of “ArmForest” SNCO added, that 8 cases of forest fires occurred in Armenia this year, out of which 2 were recorded in Nork forest, Yerevan.
