Sevan in Lethal Hazard: Public Making An Appeal to Authorities at EcoLur Press Club

On the eve of parliamentary hearings in regard with increasing water outlets from Lake Sevan by 70 million cubic meters for duration of five years, the public has prepared an appeal addressed to the Armenian President and Government entitled “Sevan in Lethal Hazard”. On 17 March, at 11:00 a.m., public experts Gagik Tadevosyan (the co-author of Armenian Law “On Lake Sevan”, the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Social, Health and Environmental Issues from 1999 to 2003 at the National Assembly) and Seyran Minasyan (specialist on water ecosystems) will present the main risks and threats for Lake Sevan in regard with the increase in water outlets, as well as the complex program on fish breeding in Lake Sevan at EcoLur Press Club. Other public representatives will also take part in the press conference, who will sign the petition and hand it to the authorities.
