“Scientifically Good Thing, But Not Realistic”: Yuri Javadyan on Establishing Snow Reservoirs

Yuri Javadyan, Chairman of Lake Sevan Preservation Committee, considers RA Academician Ruben Hambardzumyan’s idea connected with storing ater through snow reservoirs as unrealistic. “Snow reservoirs are scientifically good thing, but not a realistic idea,” Yuri Javadyan said in his interview with EcoLur and added that the largest pasture in Aragats. If snow is collected, the vegetation won’t grow. Academician Ruben Hambardzumyan proposes to preserve the snow of the mountains through snow reservoirs and to use as water in low-water seasons. According to Artak Hambaryan, a participant to this scientific experiment, Deputy Director of AUA Engineering Research Center, establishing a snow reservoir will cost much cheaper than that of a water reservoir.
