The level of Lake Sevan is forecast to reach the mark of 1901 meters as of 1 July 2017 thus increasing by 42-47 cm. The Hydromet Service of RA Ministry for Emergency State takes evaporation magnitude from lake surface as a basis for forecasting, as well as weather forecast and river flow forecasts, water transfers of 130 million cum to Lake Sevan through Arpa-Sevan aqueduct, the water intake of 170 million cum from Lake Sevan for irrigation purposes.
As of 31 December 2017, the level of the lake will be within the ranges of 1900.71-1900.76m, which will be relatively higher by +25....+30 cm as compared with 1 January 2017. It has been estimated to increase the lake level up to 1905 meters for the sustainability of Lake Sevan ecosystem taking into the consideration the height of the wave.
