In reply to EcoLur’s question, whether they don’t use the water from Lake Sevan, as additional water outlets took place this year, the people in charge of all four WUCs said they don’t use any water from Lake Sevan. The redeveloped wells will supply 44 million cubic meters of water to mitigate the deficit of around 74 million cubic meters in the water springs of Akhuryan-Araks irrigation system. As Marzpet Tonoyan, chief specialist of PIU of State Committee on Water Industry, said that these deep wells have no connection with the basin of artesian basin in Ararat Valley. The residents of local Sardarapat, Myasnikyan, Mrgashen local communities mentioned that they pay water fees on time, but nevertheless, water is not sufficient.
