Four Regions in Armenia Vulnerable In Viewpoint of Natural Disasters

13 October – International Day for Disaster Reduction was marked in Yerevan with the launch of “Reducing Risks in Armenia” project. The aim of this project is to increase the resistance of the children and communities to the natural disasters in dwelling places and to make them less vulnerable. “Armenia has all natural disasters, except tsunami. The worst and the most terrible one Armenia has experienced is the quake. Most recorded natural disasters are quakes, floods and storms, while Shirak, Lori, Kotayk and Syunik Regions are the most vulnerable ones,” Said Haykaram Mkhitaryan, Deputy Minister for Minister of Emergency States.
