Ad Hoc Committee Established to Study Irrigation System in Karbi and Ohanavan to Launch its Works

On 7 March Armenian Deputy PM, Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgyan discussed the issues related to organizing the works of the ad hoc committee established to study irrigation system in Karbi and Ohanavan communities, Aragatsotn Region. During 10 days the committee should examine the factual situation of the irrigation system in Karbi and Ohanavan communities, to give appraisals to the internal network of water and technical state of water availability, legal relations of land owners and WUO, and reveal possible problems. 

The committee is presided by Deputy Territorial Administration Minister Artashes Bakhshyan. The committee includes representatives from Agriculture Ministry, Nature Protection Ministry, State Committee on Water Industry and Aragatsotn Regional Municipality. 

MPs, the representatives of aforementioned communities, NGOs, local and international experts will also be involved in the works of the committee. The committee will submit the findings and proposals to the government.
