Deserted areas at the intersection of Nork Marash administrative district and Sari Tagh district of Yerevan will be afforested. Armenian Prime Minister's Head of Staff Eduard Aghajanyan stated this on his Facebook page. “We discussed with Environment Minister Erik Grigoryan the possibilities of afforestation in the Nork Marash administrative district and at the crossing point of Sari Tagh.
All of you are probably aware that until the 90's there was a dense forest in this area, which the people of Yerevan called "Yerevan Lungs". And here I am pleased to announce that the restoration work of "Yerevan Lungs" will begin soon. This decision should be considered as a part of the program of planting 10 million trees by the Prime Minister of Armenia in 2020,” Eduard Aghajanyan posted.
