Armenia’s Khosrov Forest State Reserve national park is still on fire. As of 6:30 am on 14 August, fire extinguishing works have resumes with the participation of 69 rescuers and Emergency Fast Response Group of the National Center for Crisis Management. According to Armen Vardanyan, Head of Information and Public Relations Department of RA Nature Protection Ministry, RA Nature Protection Minister is also in Khosrov Forest. The causes of fire and the extent of the damage caused to nature are not still known.
The fire has broken out in the section called Zima of Khosrov Forest State Reserve. According to the preliminary data, around 200-250 ha of grass-covered and forest-covered areas are on fire.
RA Minister for Emergency States David Tonoyan has applied to Russian Federation's Minister for Emergency States Vladimir Puvhkov to provide Armenia with a helicopter for fire extinguishing work is to support the firefighting works in Khosrov Forest State Reserve.
