Nuclear Power Plant CEO Sentenced to 6 Years Suspended Sentence

The Court of General Jurisdiction of Armavir Region published its verdict on the cause of embezzling 783 million AMD from the nuclear power plant.

The court has found guilty CEO Gagik Markosyan of the embezzlement and sentenced to imprisonment for 5 years 9 months and 7 days without confiscation of property. The court of first instance decided to enforce suspended sentence setting probation of 3 years. The commercial director Rubik Movsisyan is sentenced to imprisonment for 4 years 1 month and 7 days, its sentence is also suspended: the court has set a probation period of 3 years. Edik Ghazaryan, Head of Nuclear Power Plant Renovation, Preparation and Regulation, Head of Division in Charge of Procurement Process, has also found guilty and was sentenced to imprisonment for 4 years 9 months and 7 days. The court has decided to apply suspended sentence setting probation of 3 years.

Reminder: the criminal instigation found out that CEO G. Markosyan, Commercial Director R. Movsisyan and Edik Ghazaryan, Head of Nuclear Power Plant Renovation, Preparation and Regulation, Head of Division in Charge of Procurement Process, have embezzled large amount of money causing damage of 783,586,000 AMD, which has been compensated completely later. All the defendants have been set free under signature.
