Nuclear power objects of peaceful significance may be located in Armenia. On May 23 the government will discuss Agreement “On regulating interdepartmental relations of CIS member countries in the field of using nuclear power objects for peaceful purposes.” The Agreement is supposed to stipulate the location, construction, use, transfer and developing safety standards for getting objects out of service. If the agreement is adopted, Armenia will undertake obligation to enhance safety and sustainable use of nuclear power objects, prevention of accidents with joint efforts, organizing mutual aid for maintaining the reliability of object operations.
