National Assembly of Armenia Ratified Agreement on Peaceful Use of Nuclear Energy between Armenia and Belarus

On 14 November 2016 the National Assembly ratified the agreement on 'Cooperation Between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Republic of Belarus on Peaceful Use of Nuclear Energy' with 110-1 votes, 1 abstained, which was signed in Yerevan on 14 November.

Th document was signed by Areg Galstyan, Deputy Minister for Energy and Natural Resources and Mikhail Mikhadyuk, Deputy Energy Minister of the Republic of Belarus.

According to the official information, the agreement will establish legal grounds for implementing projects and programs ensuring mutually benefitial cooperation in the sector of nuclear energy, increase in nuclear energy safety, for the introduction and implementation of individual programmes aimed at training of staff with programs agreed in the higher education institutions and pedagogical centers in both countries.
