The Aravot.am received information from the employees of the Armenian nuclear power plant that around 70 ANPP employees had handed a resignation letter to ANPP Director, among them were also experts in nuclear safety. ANPP Director General Movses Vardanyan confirmed the fact of resignation letters, but he specified the figure – 67 employees rather than 70, who mainly shift. According to Movses Vardanyan, there is no threat posing the nuclear safety of the ANPP, nevertheless, there are meetings held with these employees so as to give some solution to this problem. ANPP 67 employees had handed resignation letters as their expectation with the increase in salaries hadn't been lived up to, as the Director-General said.
'Like in other objects of energetic system, there is an optimization process launched in Armenian Nuclear Power Plant, as a result of which 151 positions will be made redundant.'
Mr. Vardanyan said they will continue working, ' I hope that the matter with these 67 people won't have any impact on the nuclear safety of the nuclear power plant. We will try to solve this problem through working meetings.'
