The face-off of Global Gold Mining Company and public still continues. The chairman of Greens Union of Armenia Hakob Sanasaryan has circulated an open letter addressed to the company, after the company, in its turn, replied to the statement made by Greens Union of Armenia and Public Environmental Alliance http://ecolur.org/en/news/mining/stop-fake-anouncements/4525/,  http://ecolur.org/en/news/mining/union-of-greens-of-armenia-and-public-environmental-alliance-addressed-open-letter-to-global-gold-corporation-owner/4514/http://ecolur.org/en/news/mining/public-environmental-alliance-to-armenian-pm-asking-to-stop-vmegogoldv-company-activities/4486/ ).  The letter particularly says, “With reference to the open letter by Greens Union of Armenia and Public Environmental Alliance, in regard with the issue of Tukhmanuk mine tailing dump, the Armenian subsidiary of “Global Gold Mining” LLC responded with a letter full of offensive and non-substantiated statements, when we tried to draw Van Krikorian’s (CEO) attention and those of other officials to the fact that that mine development will lead to serious and irreversible damage. Then, the latter cites expressions from the open letter of the company and arguments by the Union of Greens of Armenia. In general, the arguments and substantiations are in-detailed risk descriptions of existing tailing dumps, participants’ speeches during public hearings in Meliq Village making reference to existing international standards and comparison with the project the company submitted”.
