Court Continues Considering Professional Opinions on Amulsar Project

The court proceedings on the consideration of professional opinions on Amulsar gold mine still continues at RA Administrative Court. The opinions are presented by the Plaintiffs - 12 residents of Gndevaz Community and 'EcoRight' and 'EcoDar' NGOs. The plaintiffs have made amendments to the grounds of the claim based on the professional opinion issued by WWF-Armenia Director Karen Manvelyan, who gives a positive opinion to Amulsar project in terms of damage caused to biodiversity. At the court hearing held on 27 June Barrister of 'Lydian Armenia' Company implementing Amulsar project Sayad Badalyan asked the court two weeks to submit a response to the amendment to the claim grounds. Environmentalists also took part in the court hearing with signs saying 'No Mining in Amulsar' and 'No to Amulsar Mine'.
The next court hearing is appointed at 11:00 on 17 August.
